Dear Users of the Hungarian Mac keyboard,

I have searched not only these forums but also the Mac forums and the entire world wide web; no one seems to have an answer. I cannot locate the following 3 characters on the Hungarian Mac keyboard:
@ # *

I have found all the other ones using (Shift) or (fn+option). I'm sure these are also available, I just can't figure out the right key combination. Can anybody help, pleease?

Thank you!
Ildiko

Turn on the Keyboard Viewer Feb 27, 2010

Go to the flag icon, and choose Open International. In the settings, turn on Keyboard Viewer. Then, select Keyboard Viewer from the flag menu. You can see where each character is for the selected language. You can press the modifier keys (Command, Shift, Alt, Control) to see how the keyboard changes.

Now, I use a PC keyboard for my Mac, and I think you have a MacBook, so the keys may be slightly different from my setup, but anyway, here are the key combinations I found for the specific characters you asked:
@ ---> Alt + Q
# ---> Alt + Shift + 3
* ---> Alt + Shift + , (comma key, on the right side of "m")
(The asterisk is always available from the numeric keypad.)

Yes!! Thank you so much, now I can't stop playing with it. (If someone saw me they would probably think I'm writing obscene Haiku. Yes, it is a MacBook and as such no Num. pad, but all the characters are there. Now, if I only had the time and the brain capacity to memorize them all.. Thanks to the steady & heavy workload, I've been postponing my Apple classes since October.. You are a lifesaver Katalin!

Many thanks for your help,
Ildikó
