Mind your heart, instead... Jul 20, 2005

"Don’t come, he won't be here. I'm sure. He's out of town. Mind your heart, instead...”- my best friend was trying to stop me from confronting my ex-boyfriend who was supposed to attend the same conference.

He had left me, weeks before. No explanations. Vanished.

I knew she was trying to spare me a humiliating scene.

However, I went.

I stormed into the hotel lobby. Conference participants were sharing drinks, introducing each other.

Then I saw him, smiling, his arms around my best friend:- “David, let me introduce you to my brand new wife, we got married this morning".

Dr. Stonehart's Clinic Jul 20, 2005

Oh no! This is crazy! Plain crazy, and I’m no more in. Enough with all that celery’n’sheep food’n’ sea bugs whole week. Enough with the foul smell of garlic! And with military training every morning! And now, a padlock on the elevator door and a sign forcing us to use the stairs! Leaving this concentration camp of a heart clinic first thing tomorrow morning. Damn! Missed it! Man traveled a long way to perfection, beings made to his image for there is no God but man. Millions of years slowly and painfully up the evolutional chain to advanced societies, freed from naive feelings and slavering passions, master and lord of himself. Grasped the secrets of nature to be...perfect. Children are little geniouses, no place for mistakes; perfect robots. The Cause Jul 20, 2005

I went to my friend's house for a visit, unannounced, and found her all bruised, broken arm and nose. She was silently crying on the kitchen floor. "He did it again, didn't he?", I asked. "No", she said fighting her running nose, "I stumbled and fell." "Over what this time?", I was angry at her denial. "Over my own heart", she sighed and continued, "It's easy to stop, you know, once you finally decide to look what it is you are really falling over time and time again."

Doing the right thing Jul 20, 2005

I did mind the heart!

I had my echographies. I carried a Holter a full long day.
I jogged every day with my Polar, my Nikes and my Timex, for a long time. I even ordered Galloway's book on running, through Amazon, and started Scarsdale’s diet by Dr. Tarnower (a cardiologist after all!)... What else? I underwent all cardiologic studies my cardiologist indicated: Doppler, CATs, stress tests. I took all the pills, the works...

How come he left me?

Diabolical mind Jul 23, 2005

Mephistopheles: Here’s the deal: I’ll give you anything you want and I’m only asking for one thing in exchange.

Faustus: What’s that?

Mephistopheles: Your heart, or your mind, it’s your choice.

Mephistopheles: I have bad news for you, doc: you lost your mind before giving away your heart.

Mind Your Heart

Don’t dash off up the stairs like that!
See what you've left behind!
Tend carefully the fragile heart,
Or it will blow your mind!

Don’t think you’ll simply walk away
And leave your heart intact.
It has a mind all of its own,
I’ll tell you for a fact.

It isn’t just yourself you harm.
My heart is breaking too.
I also have to mind my heart,
And all because of you.

I also have to mind my heart,
And all because of you.

Our two hearts used to beat as one;
Two hearts now broke in twain.
I’ll mind your heart if you’ll mind mine.
Don’t drive us both insane!

Yes ! I "dare"... Jul 29, 2005

Mind your Heart,
Mind your breath
So far the Metro station goes
So fast the train slows
To the clouds’ bows.

And thus to the deep heart
For the ones beneath
To unsuspicious eases
Darting to these blanks by all means,

Somebody, flying eagles to nowhere,
Whilst anybody goes anywhere,
Swiging here and there,

Like golden daffodils
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze,

As I did learned

As I did learned it at the primary school...

When there's nothing one can do... Jul 29, 2005

Heart and mind were having one of those heated discussions...as always. What to do, what to do when there is nothing one can do? Someone had to decide; heart or mind, and I couldn't choose which one to let take the lead this time. What to do? Mind would take me into a labyrinth of reasons, while Heart would do the same, this time into a maze of feelings. But now isn't forever, and life goes on. Which one made the decision, I don't know. All I can remember is the final answer: "Just let it go".<... See more
