I’ve been working on an assignment from a boutique agency to be delivered at the end of this week. My regulars are all small to medium translation agencies while my direct customers are all big companies and organizations. | | | Eongsub Kim South Korea Local time: 17:15 English to Korean Beyond my expectation, about 20% of respondents don't have any projects at the moment | Jan 21, 2020 |
Surprising! I pray that all the translators have many projects every day. Good luck! | | | Lincoln Hui Hong Kong Local time: 16:15 Member Chinese to English + ... Define small | Jan 21, 2020 |

These days, I only work for small companies or colleagues! The end clients may be large companies, but I am in the lucky position that I can be picky. One of my clients has grown fast, and is not exactly tiny, but they are not huge either, and they still work like a small company! They still have the personal touch with translators and treat all their clients individually. Small - up to ten employees, often just one or two The bigger client I mentioned abo... Right now, I don't have any "projects" on the go. Half an hour ago, I was working on software strings, through the new online platform of a direct client. However, that job is over for now, or at least until the next e-mail alert appears. Yesterday, I was working on a couple of different "projects" for one of the universities, but that's all done and dusted as well. Yesterday, I was working on a couple of different "projects" for one of the universities, but that's all done and dusted as well. Apart from that, I'm just doing admin now and looking at FB and proz ... things like that. Oh well, that lull didn't last long. I've just got another small "project" in, although only 300 words, so stress-free, and as the old Scots adage says ... "mony a mickle maks a muckle"

I started translation work from english to hindi since last year only and from october 2019 onwards regularly working for a web based news agency . Although it's not a complete work but I gets 1000-1200 words per day on national policy, laws, polemics and foreign policy. I am enjoying it, but can't say it's a full-time job yet. | | | Not sure, actually | Jan 21, 2020 |
I'm not really sure how big the agency is that my current main project comes from. I can only say that I've been in touch with about a dozen different PMs, so it cannot be that small. I've done a lot of different projects for them, reaching from 2 words to 180k words. Their end clients are giants in their field, at least some of them. So I'd assume that this agency is not a small one either, but who knows? They are on the other end of the planet and I had no chance to visit them yet...

A very large end client that assigns projects directly, but otherwise utilizes translation agencies to offset the kafkaesque nature of its dealings with translators.
