One consideration is that many short ones is the same as one long one, except your eggs are not all in one basket.

I like to settle in with a long translation. I often get jobs of more than 50,000 words and I like those best. Of course, it means that I have to meet a quota every day, because catching up after a break is impossible. I like the discipline.

Unless they are VERY interesting, I hate long jobs, even though they tend to be more profitable. Above 1,500 words, I usually get bored easily...

When the subject is great, however, the longer the better: this week, I am working on a 10,000+ word project for a relaxation/meditation app, and I love it!
