They say that Amazon leases its supercomputing power for 28 cents per minute to everyone on a remote basis, i.e. as a "cloud" service. -- The engineer/hacker/cracker says he believes he can still improve the software, such that the computation will in the future take only 6 minutes, which would correspond to less than 2 dollars per password.

FWIW, this was a WPA password, and he went public about the problem in order to alert system admins etc. -- not to promote criminal activities.

Just to let you know how dangerous this world has become :-]

So, be careful out there, use the right technology, and make sure you have good passwords!
