Условно говоря, я могу доказывать возможность посещения Земли инопланетянами через "чёрные дыры", типа опираясь на то, что наука не отрицает существование "чёрных дыр", однако привлечение науки в данном случае неправомерно. Гипотеза ещё не означает, что так "чёрные дыры" действительно существуют - и уж тем более, что через них на Землю переправляются инопланетяне.

Вы зачем-то опустили "onto other realms of interest", а для слова "projects" это достаточно важно, потому что project в данном случае onto, этот предлог тут имеет значение. Это перенос на другие области, в другие сферы, отличные от собственно науки.
