DSO will be calculated on a monthly basis using the Exhaustion (also known as the Count Back method) where the receivables balance is reduced by the sales value month by month (or part of month) until the balance is zero. The DSO is the number of days of sales taken to exhaust the balance.
The Best Possible DSO (BPDSO) can be calculated using the payment terms and the weighted revenue of the customers. The BPDSO represents the number of days that should be taken by a group of customers to pay XXXXX in agreement with the payment terms.The difference between the BPDSO and the DSO is the overdue days.
