Transcript of an interview with a hunter, subject: muzzle-loading guns used before the First World War

I have researched quite a bit but am not totally confused with percussion caps and nipples and primers etc.... Grateful for any help!

Reference: Zündröhrchen

Reference information:
Lesley,

I think you need to doublecheck. Sadly, I wasn’t able to type up all those references in time. Your text clearly says it’s a “Schräubchen.”
Does this mean hunters are “screwing touch-holes” and "putting holes into holes," as the chosen translation suggests (hineinschrauben!)?

Even just writing that makes me cringe.

See "Die Geheimnisse der englischen Gewehrfabrication und Büchsenmacherkunst" by William Greener ["Zündröhrchen" can be found on p. 163].

Compare this to "The Gun and Its development" by W. W. Greener (funnily enough).
"No. 2 is a priming-tube, the one end being inserted in the touch-hole and the other struck by the cock…No. 4 is the Westley-Richards Primer. This consisted of a priming-tube with flanges affixed to it. The tube was inserted in the nipple, the flanges preventing it being driven in altogether when struck by the cock."
The Gun and Its Development by W. W. Greener

You'll see touch-hole mentioned but as the opposite of priming-tube.

Here is what I have so far. Had to type up most of it up by hand.
https://www.sg-donzdorf.de/schwarzpulver

"COPPER PRIMERS

These were decidedly invented by Joe Manton; and give the quickest of all communications…But with a copper primer you have the inconvenience of pushing the little tube against the resistance of a spring, every time you load, and the extra trouble of keeping clean the machinery on you lock-plate, not to say a word of its ugly appearance."
Instructions to Young Sportsmen in All that Relates to Guns and Shooting by Peter Hawker

Interlude: So now you can replace holes, too?

"When the priming-cap is place in the priming-tube or nut preparatory to discharging the priming at its lower end, resting immediately over the vent, the instant it receives the blow of the cock on its upper extremity, the slender ede or rim retaining the fulminating powder gives way, bulging upwards..."
Newton's London Journal of Arts and Sciences [cf GoogleBooks]

In "Allgemeine militär-zeitung, Band 9" on Google Books, it even says you need to make sure that you don't move the Zündröhrchen. How does this work if it is a hole?
