We believe the market is approaching short-term oversold levels, but investor sentiment and seasonality suggest it could remain defensive over the short term. Cycles and longer-term breadth indicators suggest September weakness is more likely a bull correction than a cyclical bear market.

According to a recent note from the Royal Bank of Canada, US earnings sentiment has rebounded sharply, but may be peaking. ***Earnings sentiment*** collapsed due to the pandemic, falling to 8% (slightly below Global Financial Crisis lows) in early April.

Und auch eine Fundstelle im Netz (ein uralter FAZ-Artikel) verwendet den unscharfen Begriff „Gewinnsentiment“ mit „errechnet aus positiven geteilt durch negative Gewinnrevisionen“ in Klammern.

ABER:
RBC Capital Markets [Royal Bank of Canada] verwendet den Begriff „earnings sentiment“ wie folgt:
„(2) The rate of upward EPS estimate revisions (earnings sentiment) has continue[d] to surge, but we are on guard for a peak before too long.“ https://www.rbccm.com/en/insights/markets-in-motion/podcast....
„upward EPS estimate revisions“ = Aufwärtsrevisionen der Gewinnprognosen [EPS-Prognosen]. Der Begriff wäre demnach nicht synonym mit dem ERR.

Fazit: Sowohl mit „Verhältnis von positiven zu negativen Gewinnrevisionen“ als auch mit „Aufwärtsrevisionen der Gewinnprognosen“ würde man sich hier evtl. zu weit aus dem Fenster lehnen, daher vielleicht besser auf den unscharfen Begriff „Gewinnsentiment“ zurückgreifen (der übrigens auch in einem alten Kapitalmarktbegriff von Allianz Global Investors auftaucht].
