steadfast/resolute/constant in its oversight Explanation: I think what the author means by "constante" here is being steadfast or resolute, i.e., constant. "constante ... 2. adj. Que tiene constancia1." https://dle.rae.es/constante "constancia1 ... 1. f. Firmeza y perseverancia del ánimo en las resoluciones y en los propósitos." https://dle.rae.es/constancia "constant 1.2(of a person) unchangingly faithful and dependable. ‘a constant friend’" https://www.lexico.com/en/definition/constant "constant ‘there is a need for constant vigilance’ SYNONYMS steadfast, steady, resolute, determined, persevering, tenacious, dogged, unwavering, unflagging, unshaken https://www.lexico.com/synonym/constant" An inactive or lazy tax administration will fail to collect as much as an active one, resolute in its oversight. |

meticulous auditing Explanation: I would suggest -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 6 mins (2020-04-26 00:52:04 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- aspectos fundamentales de carácter variable para su actividad fiscalizadora y regularmente se limitan a pruebas aleatorias. eurorai.org [...] inspection offices focus on different aspects in their auditing activities and regularly restrict themselves to random sample checks. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 7 mins (2020-04-26 00:53:06 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- obre los resultados del futuro control, efectuado por la EFS, y no puede rebajar la eficacia de su actividad fiscalizadora. eurosai.org This supplementary task may not influence the future audit findings of the SAI and may not disturb the efficiency of its auditing work. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 12 mins (2020-04-26 00:57:46 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- if you don't fancy "meticulous" as maybe too free, I would suggest "consistent" but I wouldn't go with "constant" -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 26 mins (2020-04-26 01:12:04 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- and "trabajo" is implicit -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr (2020-04-26 02:38:54 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Un fisco lazy o perezoso no va a cosechar las mismas recaudaciones que un fisco activo y de constante trabajo fiscalizador. A lazy tax authority/administration won't harvest the same (tax) revenue as an active authority/administration with that exercises consistent auditing. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr (2020-04-26 02:41:39 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- forgot the / in the last bit... should read "with/that exercises" consistent auditing -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr (2020-04-26 02:44:42 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- I think we have to see your question in consideration of the wider context. This often happens when you have to ask about but specific terms or phrases so... -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2 hrs (2020-04-26 02:48:40 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- now we also have to consider if "fisco" is a person or an authority -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2 hrs (2020-04-26 02:49:59 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- I would opt for "authority" but let's see what others have to say on this -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 3 hrs (2020-04-26 04:12:09 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- was a sloppy answer but see what you think -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 3 hrs (2020-04-26 04:39:11 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- and "collect" as an alternative to "harvest" |

regular spot-checking for compliance Explanation: I don't think field work as in the ProZ ref. 'works' here, as tax (UK Inland Revenue / HMRC) clerks (I have known and working in Central London) may not go out and about at all, but be alerted to tax non-payers and companies who or that submit no tax returns at all, leave an empty tax file and may be caught in a Revenue criminal prosecution net at a later date.
