(1) Translators Without Borders: translation for humanitarian causes

Translators Without Borders ("TWB") is a volunteer group that provides free translations to humanitarian organizations such as Doctors Without Borders. Pro bono work contributed by professional translators via TWB helps recipient organizations spend as much of their funding as possible on humanitarian works.
ProZ.com has been involved in helping facilitate the screening of translators who have volunteered to participate in these initiatives.

The ProZ.com moderator class of 2010-2011 will be commencing shortly. Thank you to all who have volunteered to serve a year as site moderator in the coming class, and to those who are finishing their terms in the class of 2009-2010.
Moderators perform a key role in welcoming and guiding new participants at ProZ.com, and in helping to maintain a productive work atmosphere on the site. Applications for the class of 2010-2011 are still being accepted.

Originally developed for Translators Without Borders, a new translator screening platform has now been made available in beta at ProZ.com.
This new feature allows you to create translation tests, administer them to translators, and review them using ProZ.com's "translation quality assessment tool" (TQAT). With the screening center, you can:
