Nice to e-meet you! My name is Elizabeth. I am a translator from English and Italian to Portuguese and an ESL teacher.

I am very enthusiastic about being able to communicate with people in their own languages, and making it possible for those who cannot speak another language to understand contents in their native languages.

Communication helps us to enhance our knowledge, our culture, and we become truly richer inside. That's the reason I enjoy translating: to spread knowledge, to help different populations with communication amongst one another, to break the barriers/frontiers of their towns, cities or even countries. Moreover, that's also why I decided to volunteer with TED and Translators Without Borders.

For me, the care and attention dedicated to each project are intended for people who would like to have their ideas clearly expressed by the texts, so that people can understand an article, a website, a document, and make decisions if necessary.

My background experience in tourism and travel, and professional knowledge with languages, can help you to reach out more Portuguese speakers by:

- producing trustful and accurate translation of your English or Italian content into Portuguese, respecting and reflecting the original message of the source texts.

- checking whether your existing content in Portuguese is correctly written and reflects clearly the original source message by proofreading the material concerned.

- researching the most suitable terminology for your translation project or online texts: glossary creation.

My knowledge of terminology adds value to the process of finding the most suitable terms for your texts, meaning that some terms may be used in the same contexts, but there is certainly one that fits better your message, just like a glove.
