Having lived in Spain for 15 years and Italy for six years, I am now back in the UK working full-time as a freelance translator. In the past three years I have worked on all kinds of projects, technical and less so. I have recently moved towards Fashion, Art and Architecture, which I find more challenging and rewarding than the more usual tourism / marketing texts.
My ambition is to translate contemporary literature, and to this end I attended the Translate in the City summer school in July 2015 at City University, London. Following from this I was selected to translate several extracts of shortlisted works for the Calvino Prize, which are published on the Booksinitaly.it website. I have recently joined the Emerging Translators' Network which I hope will give me advice and support in this new phase of my career. In October 2015 I was the winner of the Italian section of the translation competition run by publishing company And Other Stories. |
