Translation - English Sever Combined Immune Deficiency (SCID) is a hereditary disease in which a destruction of the human immune system.
The main symptom is the severe defect of T- & B-lymphocytes. T- & B-lymphocytes are white blood cells of immune system in human body. When functioning properly, they can resist infections from virus, fungal, and bacterial.
Because newborn babies carry their mother’s immune system, infectious diseases should generally not be adverse consequences to them. Their own immune systems have time to develop into complete defense mechanisms, but not in children with SCID. Their bodies are not protected from invasions, so they are in high risk of suffering from diseases such as pneumonia and meningitis.
