Bio

I am a freelance translator, editor, proofreader and interpreter. I have completed professional qualifications in translation, editing and proofreading, and I enjoy working with words. I am a full member of the New Zealand Society of Translators and Interpreters (in translating) for the language pairs English<>Afrikaans. I am listed on the NZTA website as an approved translator.

I have a postgraduate Diploma in Translation; a Diploma in Publishing comprising of four specialised modules in Editing, Project management, Marketing and Technology; and a BA degree majoring in Communication Science and Sociology, including Afrikaans and English language courses. Furthermore, I have a Diploma in Librarianship as my first qualification gained.

My experience spans a variety of fields. I recently graduated from AUT University with a Postgraduate Certificate in Arts in Interpreting (2023) and have been interpreting in court for a number of years.
