Source text - German Die hauptsächlichen Teile eines Viertakt-Ottomotors sind Einlassventil (EV), Auslassventil (AV), Kolben (K), Verbrennungsraum (VR), Pleuelstange (P), Kurbelwelle (KW) und Zündkerze (Z).
Arbeitsweise - Einführung
Ein Viertakt Ottomotor führt während seines Arbeitsspiels 4 Takte aus - Ansaugen, Verdichten, Arbeiten und Ausschieben. Im ersten Takt (Ansaugen) ist das Einlassventil geöffnet und der Kolben bewegt sich in Richtung Kurbelwelle. Durch den im Verbrennungsraum herrschenden Unterdruck wird ein Luft-Kraftstoffgemisch angesogen und füllt zum Ende des Taktes den Verbrennungsraum ganz aus. Das Einlassventil schließt sich und der Kolben bewegt sich von der Kurbelwelle weg (Takt 2: Verdichten). Dabei wird das Luft-Kraftstoffgemisch stark verdichtet. Kurz vor Erreichen des oberen Totpunktes (OT) wird das Gemisch durch einen Funken an der Zündkerze gezündet (Zündzeitpunkt). Temperatur und Druck im Verbrennungsraum steigen sprunghaft an. Durch den hohen Druck wird der Kolben wieder in Richtung Kurbelwelle gepresst (Takt 3: Arbeiten). Am unteren Totpunkt (UT) öffnet das Auslassventil und die Verbrennungsgase werden aus dem Verbrennungsraum ausgeschoben (Takt 4: Ausschieben). Insgesamt hat sich die Kurbelwelle nach den 4 Takten um 720° gedreht (2 vollständige Umdrehungen).
Arbeitsweise - Die Takte
Die Menge aller möglichen Zustandspunkte einer Wärmekraftmaschine lässt sich in einem p-V-Zustandsdiagramm darstellen. Das entsprechende Diagramm für einen idealisierten Viertakt-Ottomotor ist in Bild 6 dargestellt.
Die nebenstehende Abbildung sowie die nachfolgenden Abbildungen des Arbeitszustandes eines Viertakt Ottomotors und des zugehörigen p-V-Zustandsdiagramms entstammen der Online-Animation zum Ottomotor. Der einzelne Punkt im p-V-Zustandsdiagramm bezeichnet den aktuellen Zustand. Die Farbe des Verbrennungsraumes symbolisiert die dort herrschenden Temperatur (blau: kalt; rot: heiß).
1. Takt: Ansaugen
Der Kolben bewegt sich in Richtung Kurbelwelle. Das Einlassventil ist geöffnet. Der Druck des im Zylinder befindlichen Restgases vermindert sich anfangs, da das Produkt aus p*V nahezu konstant ist. Das Luft-Kraftstoffgemisch wird durch den gebildeten Unterdruck angesaugt.
Translation - English The main parts of a four-stroke gasoline engine are the intake valve (IV), exhaust valve (EX), piston (P), combustion chamber (CC), connecting rod (C), crankshaft (CS), and spark plug (S).
Mode of operation – introduction
A four-stroke gasoline engine executes 4 strokes during its working cycle – intake, compression, combustion, and exhaust. In the first stroke (intake), the intake valve is opened, and the piston moves toward the crankshaft. The prevailing vacuum in the combustion chamber draws in an air-fuel mixture and completely fills the combustion chamber at the end of the stroke. The intake valve closes, the piston moves away from the crankshaft (stroke 2: compression), and the air-fuel mixture is heavily compressed during this process. Shortly before reaching top dead center (TDC), the mixture is ignited by a spark on the spark plug (ignition time). The temperature and pressure in the combustion chamber sharply increase, and the high pressure pushes the piston toward the crankshaft again (stroke 3: combustion). At bottom dead center (BDC), the exhaust valve opens, and the combustion gases are expelled from the combustion chamber (stroke 4: exhaust). After the 4 strokes, the crankshaft has rotated by 720° overall (2 complete revolutions).
Mode of operation – the strokes
The set of all possible state points for a heat engine can be illustrated in a p-V state diagram. The relevant diagram for an idealized four-stroke gasoline engine is illustrated in Figure 6.
The adjacent figure and the following figures of a four-stroke gasoline engine’s working state and corresponding p-V state diagram are taken from the online animation for the gasoline engine. The sole point in the p-V state diagram indicates the current state. The combustion chamber color represents the prevailing temperature therein (blue: cold; red: hot).
1st Stroke: Intake
The piston moves toward the crankshaft, and the intake valve is opened. The pressure of the residual gas present in the cylinder is at first reduced since the product of p*V is nearly consistent. The air-fuel mixture is drawn in by the vacuum that is created.
