Hi! I am a freelance translator and I offer translation, proofreading and transcription services. I translate from English and French into Spanish and Galician, and I specialize in biomedical translation.
Since I finished my MA in Biomedical Translation, I have been working for several companies in the medical field, such as Editorial Médica Panamericana, a medical publishing house. I have translated several textbooks (on Genetics, Interventional Radiology and Embryology), as well as a diverse range of technical texts, such as scientific papers or pharmaceutical texts.
Although my main field of specialization is biomedical translation, I am also trained in other fields such as literary, journalistic and some types of legal translation. In fact, as a trainee translator, I worked with several NGOs, I translated reports and articles for UNHCR and I participated in the translation and revision of two books as part of a literary translation project: Red Spanish Notebook and Phoenix: The Life of Norman Bethune. In addition to my training and experience, my personal inclinations for creative writing and interest in art and literature have allowed me to feel very confident around these types of texts.
Regarding CAT tools, I usually work with MemoQ 2015, but I am also a proficient user of Trados Studio 2019 and Déjà Vu X2.
