I was raised bilingually as the only available kindergarten in the Belgian town my German parents moved to was French-speaking. I later attended French schools and universities out of habit, I guess. A video game enthusiast since a young age, I've had quite some contact with the English language even before having classes. I soon developed a love for English and decided to study Germanic Linguistics and Philology. My master's thesis was about narrative strategies in video games, so one could say I've come full circle. As for my work experience: I've worked 2 years for the German TV-channel ZDF as a translator and subtitle editor until the project was unfortunately cancelled.
I'm working as a freelance translator since then, specializing in Scientific, Medical, Technical and gaming related stuff (I translated the indie-game "Effie" for PS4, for instance).
