Translation - English Giving you a very easy example: If we have the English phrase “isn’t it?” we would never translate literally because that would make only everyone laugh to say "ist nicht es?" but we would very probably translate with "nicht wahr?" that means it is totally naturally for us to translate only according to meaning and not according to the words. This is so obvious for any translator that he is not tempted at all to do that. Why? The purpose how these words are used, and that is their meaning, is not known in the translated language. We would immediately know that we have the adequate German phrase “nicht wahr?” (not true?) which is used in the same way. Hence the meaning of this little phrase is that one is asking his readers for some kind of approval of an idea.

English to German: Aus dem Gerichtsurteil von Judge Sweet
Source text - English The first edition of 100 copies of the Criswell edition was bound with a yellow cover with a copyright notice. The copyright application was filed on behalf of the Foundation of the Parasensory Investigation on November 24. The copyright application was filed by Skutch who had some prior experience with copyrights. It stated that the first publication was October 6, 1979. The copyright was registered by the Copyright Office on December 4, 1975.
Following distribution of the first edition, the defendants made a second Criswell edition with a white cover, and a third edition of the Criswell edition followed with a blue cover.
The Criswell edition contained substantially fewer pages (two pages of the 8 1/2 x 11 original having been reduced to fit the size of one 8 x 11 1/2 page, resulting in smaller print) and was sold for $50.
Translation - German Die Erste Ausgabe von 100 Kopien der Criswell Ausgabe wurde mit einem gelben Einband und mit einem Copyright-Vermerk versehen. Der Antrag auf Urheberrecht wurde im Namen der „Foundation of the Parasensory Investigation“ am 24. November eingereicht.
English to German: From a near-death-experience
Source text - English The ancients knew of this. They said Godhead periodically created new universes by breathing out, and de-creating other universes by breathing in. These epochs were called yugas. Modern science called this the Big Bang. I was in absolute, pure consciousness. I could see or perceive all the Big Bangs or yugas creating and de-creating themselves. Instantly I entered into them all simultaneously. I saw that each and every little piece of creation has the power to create. It is very difficult to try to explain this. I am still speechless about this.
It took me years after I returned to assimilate any words at all for the void experience. I can tell you this now; the void is less than nothing, yet more than everything that is! The void is absolute zero; chaos forming all possibilities. It is absolute consciousness; much more than even universal intelligence.
Translation - German Die alten Geistestraditionen wussten davon.
