Source text - Spanish El pago anticipado de créditos con el Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo y al Banco Mundial por siete mil millones de dólares, "puede ser la primera de varias operaciones que permitan la utilización de las reservas internacionales para amortizar la deuda pública externa, de forma ordenada y gradual", señaló Alonso García Tamés, subsecretario de Hacienda y Crédito Público.
La operación "no implica desendeudamiento del gobierno federal, pero sí desendeudamiento externo del país, porque se usarán las reservas" y eso mejorará la posición crediticia de México, sostuvo.
En entrevista con EL FINANCIERO, expuso que la operación de prepago comenzará a reducir el "costo de acarreo que resulta de que México tenga dólares en activos internacionales, cuando se deben los mismos dólares a tasas más altas de lo que devengan los activos".
Al explicar a detalle cómo operarán los nuevos instrumentos (Bondes D) que sustituirán paulatinamente el monto de los Bonos de Regulación Monetaria (Brem), precisó que "el gobierno no tiene la intención de prepagar toda la deuda externa de mercados".
García Tamés informó que esta semana realizarán una gira a los principales centros financieros -entre ellos Nueva York y Londres-, para aclarar las condiciones de la negociación.

According to Alonso Garcia Tames, deputy secretary of finance and public credit, Mexico's early payment of debts to the Inter-American Development Bank and the World Bank for $7 billion "may be the first of several operations aimed at using international reserves to repay the country's national foreign debt in an orderly and gradual manner."

Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) se quedó corto en la producción de gas natural en la Cuenca de Burgos: aun con la participación de empresas privadas nacionales y extranjeras en la exploración y producción, los resultados se ubican por abajo de las expectativas originales de 2003, año en que se lanzaron los primeros Contratos de Servicios Múltiples (CSM).
Incluso los nuevos contratos (llamados Contratos de Obra Pública Financiada) podrían ser considerados "el patito feo" de la siguiente administración, porque los riesgos de encontrar gas natural son mayores.
Luis Puig, vicepresidente del sector hidrocarburos de la Cámara Mexicana de la Industria de la Construcción (CMIC), afirmó que las expectativas en Burgos no se han logrado.
La meta era encontrar mil 150 millones de pies cúbicos diarios, equivalentes al 20 por ciento del consumo nacional. Y hasta el momento sólo hay 140 millones de pies cúbicos diarios, es decir, 13 por ciento de los compromisos originales.
