Bio
Studied "Computer Science" at Manchester University (B.Sc Hons).
Moved to Spain c. 1975. Married a Spanish woman. Learned Spanish. Separated. 1 daughter.
Worked with lasers and sound and light equipment (discotheques, bars, some theatre).
Started translating c. 1995. Agencies very pleased, recommended me to others.
Took IoL exam, passed with distinction in General Translation, passes in Science and Technology.
I also have Brainbench certificates as a certified MS Word Power User and as a certified Written English Professional.
I still work as a technician (installation, maintenance, hires: sound, illumination, security cameras, computerised lighting control systems, etc). Keeps me up to date with Spanish terminology and new developments. So I tend to do more translating in winter, more technical work in summer (tourist season in the Costa del Sol).
