Source text - English Intended Use
Guide wires are designed to be inserted into the patient’s body via natural or surgical pathways, being placed at the desired location by means of steerable distal and proximal ends and facilitate the placement of instruments, such as endoscopic catheters.
Indications
Guide wires for gastroenterological use are intended to be used as guidance for instruments during endoscopic intervention of the bile ducts, pancreatic ducts and right or left hepatic duct. Endourological guide wires are intended to facilitate the placement of instruments during diagnostic or interventional urological procedures.
Contraindications
Gastroenterological and endourological guide wires are not intended to be used in any other surgical procedure except those mentioned within the indications. Gastroenterological and endourological guide wires are contraindicated for intravascular use .
Application
General
The interventional combination device has to be prepared according to the instructions of the manufacturer of the device. The guide wire lumen of the combination device has to be flushed before insertion of the guide wire.
