Often, two threads are linked together in a processing pipeline. That is, the first thread produces a sequence of values that are consumed by the second thread. For example, the first thread may be extracting all the words from a document (by skipping over the formatting codes) and passing those words to a second thread that speaks the words aloud.
One simple way to organize the processing would be by strict alternation between the producing and consuming threads. In the preceding example, the first thread would extract a word, and then wait while the second thread converted it into sound. The second thread would then wait while the first thread extracted the next word. However, this approach doesn't yield any concurrency: only one thread is runnable at a time. This lack of concurrency may result in suboptimal performance if the computer system has two processors, or if one of the threads spends a lot of time waiting for an I/O device.
Instead, consider running the producer and the consumer concurrently. Every time the producer has a new value ready, the producer will store the value into an intermediate storage area, called a buffer. Every time the consumer is ready for the next value, it will retrieve the value from the buffer. Under normal circumstances, each can operate at its own pace. However, if the consumer goes to the buffer to retrieve a value and finds the buffer empty, the consumer will need to wait for the producer to catch up. Also, if you want to limit the size of the buffer (that is, to use a bounded buffer), you need to make the producer wait if it gets too far ahead of the consumer and fills the buffer. Putting these two synchronization restrictions in place ensures that over the long haul, the rate of the two threads will match up, although over the short term, either may run faster than the other.

The County Wexford United Irishmen organisation had remained relatively intact during the pre-rebellion repression that saw much of the organisation in other counties severely weakened. However, in May 1798, just as the rebellion broke out in County Kildare, the authorities began to move against suspected rebels and arrested Anthony Perry of Inch, an ex-military officer and senior United Irishman. Breaking down under torture, Perry named a number United Irish leaders, including Bagenal Harvey, who were quickly rounded up. In the rising tension news of the rebellion and of a massacre in Dunlavin swept through Wexford and on the night of 26 May, rebels mobilised throughout north county Wexford attacking military and loyalist targets for arms. Next morning they gathered at Oulart Hill and Ballyminaun Hill. At Ballyminaun the rebels were easily crushed but won a significant victory at Oulart Hill led by Father John Murphy and others, annihilating a company of militia sent to destroy them. Next, the rebels moved to Enniscorthy and increased their numbers to about 6,000 men along the way. The rebels achieved victory in Enniscorthy on the 28 May and two days later, the rebels were able to take Wexford Town after Colonel Maxwell fled with his militia. The seizure of the county on 30 May closed the first phase of the Wexford Rebellion and increased the rebels numbers to 10,000 men.
Second phase
The second phase of the rebellion occurred between June 1, 1798 and June 21 1798. The citizens of county Wexford were able to establish a republican regime where civilian leadership took a central role. This “republic” decided to split up the rebels of Wexford; one group was to move north toward Dublin while the other was to move west toward New Ross. The rebel group sent toward New Ross faced much opposition and suffered nearly 2,000 deaths.They attacked on the 5th of June and took most of the town. fierce street fighting commenced with huge causulties. Rebels retreat after counter attack while facing no ammunition. This group was practically dismantled after the Battle of New Ross and gradually dwindled following the failed battle. After several small victories, the second rebel group was defeated at Arklow which would have been a significant victory, but lost on 9 June due to a lack of ammunition. David Joyce was the commander of 4,000 strong.
Final phase
The Wexford Rebels were finally defeated after General Lake launched several decisive offensive attacks to regain the county. As heavy rain poured on the county for the first time since the rebellion began, General Lake's men entered the county from five points: Duncannon, New Ross, Newtownbarry, Carnew and Arklow. By 20 June, the remaining rebels were pushed back to Vinegar Hill. When the rebels went to Wexford town for support, they found that Thomas Dixon, the man responsible for leading several rebel military groups, had taken about 90 suspected government loyalists to the Wexford Bridge where he proceeded to hold hurried trials after which most of the prisoners were executed and thrown into the harbor. General Lake took Vinegar Hill on June 21 and eventually pushed all the way into Wexford town where the republic was dismantled and rebels fled. Many of the rebellions significant leaders both politically and on the battlefield were executed. This included Father John Murphy, Bagenal Harvey who was the rebel commander-in-chief, and Matthew Keogh who was the rebel governor of Wexford Town.

Pantheon
The Pantheon is the best-preserved ancient building in Rome, the building we see today dates back to 120 A.D. The original building was older, but was destroyed and rebuilt by Emperor Hadrian. On the outside you see 16 columns that were made in one piece in Egypt, and transported to Rome. Inside the most impressive sight is that of the dome. Until the renaissance it was the biggest dome in the world, and it was the bases for the dome that Michelangelo built for the St. Peter's. In the middle of the dome, you will see a big hole, which is the only source of light for the building. When it rains holes in the floor make sure that the water, makes it way out.
The floorplan of the Pantheon is still the same as in Roman times, and most of the inside of the building is still the same, except for the statues of Catholic saints, the tomb of Raphael, and the tombs of 2 kings of Italy. (Victor Emanuelle II and Umberto I.)
Roman Forum
To many the Roman Forum may just look like a huge field littered with rocks, but you have to remember that this once was the focal point of an empire that lasted a thousand years. Entrance to the Forum used to be free, but is now included in the ticket for the Colosseum and the Palantine Hill. The Forum was layed out along side the Via Sacra, which leads from the Colosseum to Capitol Hill. In the Forum you will find several sights of interest :
* The Arch of Titus
* The Basilica of Maxentius and Constantine
* The Temple of Antoninus and Faustina
* The Temple of Julius Caesar
* The Temple of Vesta, and the house of the Vestal Virgins
* The Temple of Caster and Pollux
* The Curia or Senate house
* The Arch of Septimius Severus
* The Rostrum
* The Column of Phocas
* The Temple of Saturn.
The entrance to the Roman Forum used to be free, and you will still find it listed as free in many of the guidebooks, but a visit to the Roman Forum is now included in the combined ticket for the Colosseum and Palantine Hill. It also means that if you buy a ticket at the Forum, you can skip the long lines at the Colosseum.
Capitoline Museum
The Capitoline museum (Musei Capitolini) was created in 1471 when Pope Sixus IV donated a group of bronze statues to the people of Rome. These statues are still and important part of the collection. This collection includes the statue of the she-wolf, with under it the twins Remus and Romulos (although the boys were added later.) that symbolises Rome. A copy of this statue can also be seen on the square. A new part of the museum was created to hold the famous statue of Marcus Aurelius on a horse. This statue was the focal point of the Piazza de Campidoglio, but it was moved inside to perserve it better. The rest of the collection mainly focusses on statues and paintings. The are exhibitions usualy on the second and third floor of the Palazzo del Conservatori. (sometimes dubbed: Palazzo Clementino).
The museum is situated in two buildings: the Palazzo Nuovo and the Palazzo del Conservatori. These two buildings are on the left and right side of the Piazza de Campidoglio. Entrance to the museum is at the Palazzo del Conservatori. The buildings are connected under the ground by the Tabularium, where you can find remains of Roman temples, and a small exhibition. From here you also have a nice view over the Roman Forum.
Vatican City
While Vatican City is an independent sovereign state, it happens to be located entirely in Rome, on the west bank of the Tiber. You don't need to show a passport to enter, but you will have to pass yourself and your bags through X-ray scanners. And be prepared to queue.
Even ignoring the Sistine Chapel, the Vatican Museums are some of the most important museums in the world. The Vatican has a superb gallery, excellent Roman and Etruscan collections, and plenty more. Be sure not to miss the appartments that were decorated by Raphael. There is too much to see if you plan on going to the museums for one day. If you go one day, you just have time for the highlights. The highlight of the visit to the museums is the The Sistine Chapel known for Michelangelo's two most famous masterpieces: the ceiling, depicting numerous scenes from the Old Testament and the Last Judgement, occupying the entire wall behind the altar.
St Peter's Basilica is the centre of the Catholic faith, the richest and most important church in the world. Built on top of the remains of St. Peter. The views from the top of the Dome, 130 metres above St. Peter's Square, are wonderful. The entrance to the stairs and the elevator are on the rightside of the Basilica, were you will also find the entrance to the Vatican Grotto that holds the remains of many popes including John Paul II, who died in 2005.

El Panteón
El Panteón es el edificio antiguo mejor conservado de Roma. La construcción que podemos ver hoy en día data del 120 d. C. El edificio original era anterior, pero fue destruido y posteriormente reconstruido por el emperador Adriano. En el exterior, pueden verse 16 columnas que fueron fabricadas de una sola pieza en Egipto y después trasportadas a Roma. En el interior, la cúpula ofrece el espectáculo más impresionante. Hasta el Renacimiento, era la mayor del mundo y sirvió de base para la cúpula que Miguel Ángel construyó en la basílica de San Pedro.
