The UltraCard Express is a fully-fledged range of serial cards that supports the new PCI Express bus standard now being supplied by major server vendors such as Dell, HP and many more. The new UltraCard Express series enables enterprises to deploy advanced server technology with important serial based equipment that is essential to their operations.
PCI Express, also known as PCIe, delivers major performance improvements over the older PCI and PCI-X technology. It is a scalable, high-speed bus that supports backwards compatibility with PCI applications and drivers. PCI based multi-port serial cards are now being fitted in many servers and desktops supporting a wide range of serial devices such as receipt printers, credit card and bar code readers. The new UltraCard Express multi-port serial cards will enable users to connect these critical serial devices to servers fitted with PCI Express card slots.
