Since most of my work is for international organizations, I suspect at least some of it ends up in the dark catacombs of their websites.

... apart from a few customer emails. And some of it will be "gated" or "behind a paywall", so it's semi-public, but still online. | | | I don't know | Dec 29, 2018 |
I have been translating a lot for two platforms on adult education and on vacation rentals and those texts are all online, I’ve also translated several e-courses and although these are online they are paid, so they are semi-public. For the remaining of my clients I have no idea what they publish online and like Muriel I suspect that at some point some of my translations will be tucked away in some dark catacomb… | |

I don't know | Dec 29, 2018 |
I am doing a lot of software localisation, does that count as "online"? Also, a lot of content I do is online but not public, for example internal documents of companies. | | | DZiW (X) Ukraine English to Russian + ...
I'm working with local direct clients, so the translation is mostly for internal workflow only, not to mention a lot of provisional translations for making the right decision what to translate or not. | | | Other -- it varies | Dec 29, 2018 |
I know some of my work is highly confidential, so it never comes online. A good proportion, however, is information to the general public or to end-clients' customers, and some of it certainly goes online, though not all of it. I have no idea of the percentage, and apart from that, my work varies quite a lot. I probably do more of the publicity-oriented kind and less of the confidential type, but that said, I never know when one of my clients will send a bunch of medica... Most of my work is not to be published, i.e., contracts, procedures, lawsuits, specifications... I have translated lots of site contents, apps, and the like, which are all published. I have also translated a few books, some of which are online as ebooks. Many of the other documents I have translated may be found in sites as well. But there is no way to estimate a volume or number for those. | | | To report site rules violations or get help, contact a site moderator: You can also contact site staff by submitting a support request » Poll: How much of what you translate is online content, or published online?
