Source text - Spanish Los menores migrantes no acompañados, diariamente emprenden un camino incierto con el único objetivo de reunirse con un ser querido, niños que a su corta edad se exponen a la complejidad y a la temperatura del desierto, así como a ser presas de violadores, asesinos, que los ven como mercancías que pueden explotar, prostituir y hasta traficar.
Fue por ellos que creamos hace ya más de cuatro años el programa Camino a Casa, con el fin de atenderlos, protegerlos y velar por su seguridad mientras son enviados a su lugar de origen.
A la fecha hemos logrado rescatar 25,600 niños, quienes se han reunido de nuevo con sus familias.
Translation - English Every day, countless unaccompanied migrant minors start on an uncertain road with the sole objective of being reunited with a loved one; these are kids who, even though very young, expose themselves to the dangers and the temperature of the desert, as well as the risk of becoming the pray of rapists and killers who look at them as mere merchandise to be exploited, prostituted or even trafficked with.
They were the reason behind the creation of the “Camino a Casa” program, to tend to, protect, and watch over them so they remain safe while they wait to be sent to their places of origin.
To date, we have been able to rescue 25,600 children, who have ultimately been reunited with their families.

Everyone has a past. Oftentimes it behooves one to think of the past only as its remembrance gives one pleasure.
“I do not see how you can disagree. Truly, I do not.” Lady Catherine’s features settled into the familiar expression of a school mistress who knew best: lips pressed tight, eyes narrowed and staring down her nose. She perched on the overstuffed chair and folded her hands in her lap.
Fitzwilliam Darcy opened his mouth to comment but shut it before the words escaped. When his mother-in-law wore that expression, only a fool considered arguing. The dear woman possessed the Fitzwilliams’ hallmark stubbornness in far greater measure than her petite stature implied.
“If my Anne were still with us, she would agree—”
“With what would she agree?” Richard Fitzwilliam poked his head in the doorway.
Darcy jumped and twisted around in his seat. “I swear you will drive me barking mad!”
“How so?” Fitzwilliam sauntered in. His heavy boots barely whispered against the carpet.
“Sneaking up on me! One day I will—” Darcy rose and shook a pointing finger.
“Balderdash! You would do no such thing, and even if you did, you would stand no chance—”
“Yes, yes, I know, against a retired colonel of His Majesty’s army. I know. You say it often enough.”
Fitzwilliam chuckled and dropped onto the settee. His long legs stretched into the center of the room, perfectly situated to trip the unsuspecting. “You are merely unhappy George and David have learned from their uncle, the hero. What have they done this time?”
“Ask the butler who is cleaning the ink spilled on my desk, and coat, and breeches.”
Lady Catherine leaned forward. “Really, Fitzwilliam, retired colonel or not, I am not sure you should be teaching my grandsons—”
“They are boys, madam, and if I have anything to say on the matter, they will be permitted to act like boys.”
“Your dear mother, Lady Matlock, never allowed—”
“No, she did not, and I vowed never to see the same inflicted upon any boy in my influence. In fact, it is high time I taught them to fence.” Fitzwilliam brandished an invisible foil.
“They are full young for that.” She groaned and pinched her temples.
Fitzwilliam grinned his maddening cocksure smile. “So then, Aunt, on what do you insist Anne would agree with you?”
Darcy grumbled and sank into his chair.
She smoothed her skirt over her lap. “I am sure you will agree. It only stands to reason that—”
“No, madam, it does not.” Darcy pressed his eyes with thumb and forefinger.
“What stands to reason?” Fitzwilliam asked.
“A widower in possession of children and an estate—”
“And a good fortune,” Darcy muttered.
“Naturally, a good fortune, that goes without saying.”
“What about such a gentleman?” Fitzwilliam enjoyed this far too much.
“Why, he must be in want of a wife, of course.” She sprang to her feet and wandered across the room, stopping in front of the large picture window. “A retired admiral of the White, Thomas Bennet, a widower with four children, two daughters and two sons—”
“And five thousand a year.” Darcy rolled his eyes.

“Pregúntale al mayordomo que está limpiando la tinta derramada sobre mi escritorio, mi saco y mis pantalones.”
Lady Catherine se inclinó hacia adelante. “En serio, Fitzwilliam, coronel retirado o no, no estoy segura de que debas estar enseñando a mis nietos…”
“Son niños, señora, y si tengo algo que decir al respecto, se les permitirá actuar como niños.”
“Tu querida madre, Lady Matlock, nunca permitió…”
“No, no lo hizo, y yo juré que nunca vería que le pasara lo mismo a ningún niño bajo mi influencia. De hecho, ya va siendo hora de que les enseñe esgrima.” Fitzwilliam blandió un florete invisible.
“Son demasiado chicos para eso.” Gimió ella y se oprimió las sienes.
Fitzwilliam sonrió con su exasperante sonrisa arrogante. “Así que, Tía, ¿sobre qué insistes en que Anne estaría de acuerdo contigo?”
Darcy gruñó y se hundió en su silla.
Ella se alisó la falda sobre el regazo. “Estoy segura que estarás de acuerdo. Es lógico pensar que…”
“No, señora, no lo es.” Darcy presionó sus ojos con el pulgar y el índice.
“¿Qué es lógico pensar?” preguntó Fitzwilliam.

“Pues, que debe estar buscando una esposa, por supuesto.” Ella se levantó y vagabundeó por el salón, deteniéndose frente al gran ventanal. “Un almirante de la White (Blanca) retirado, Thomas Bennet, viudo con cuatro hijos, dos hijas y dos hijos…”

He remembered that old oak, the one with the split trunk. It had been in full leaf, a giant filling the sky, when he first rode to Meryton with Bingley. Now its bare branches reached out over the hedgerow as if to snare an unwary traveler. But Darcy was anything but unwary.
He knew the dangers of the road he followed. It led to Miss Elizabeth Bennet of the fine eyes, the woman who had almost made him forget who he was and what he needed to do. No longer. He had conquered that weakness and put it behind him. This journey to Meryton was for one purpose and one purpose only, and it did not involve seeing her.
Most of his acquaintances in Meryton had already faded in his mind. He could barely recall their faces, but that tiny wisp of hair which escaped Elizabeth’s hairpins and danced over the nape of her neck – that he remembered in excruciating detail. He could practically smell her lavender scent and see the reflected candlelight on the engraved silver pendant she had worn to the Netherfield ball, drawing his eyes downwards and into temptation. And the music of her laugh, the flash in her fine eyes when she was amused, that pale blue dress she wore when Caroline Bingley invited her to take a turn around the room. The sunlight had shown through it when she passed in front of the window, and that image was seared on his soul. But now he was past all that. Should she happen to cross his path today, he would feel nothing. He was once more in control of himself, the master of Pemberley and of his fate.
The icy wind whistled past his ears and down his neck as a few lazy snowflakes danced in the air. With his free hand, he tightened his muffler and turned up the collar of his many-caped greatcoat. His thick leather gloves were fur-lined, but even so, his fingers were beginning to lose feeling as he held the reins. It would have been wiser to take a carriage in this weather, where he could have a warm brick at his feet and another for his hands, but he had wanted the freedom to come and go quickly when he reached Meryton. It was only a few miles now. His numb fingers did not matter. The sooner this was done, the happier he would be.
He squinted up at the grey sky. It had been clear when he left London, but now clouds covered every inch of it, not that he minded. The clouds matched his mood better than sunny skies. But now the snow was coming faster and the wind was picking up.
A serious snowstorm could trap him in Meryton overnight, and that was unacceptable. People would recognize him and ask questions. Perhaps he should turn back and find an inn on the turnpike. But he had not brought his valet or clothes for another day, and if he waited out the snow in an inn, he would have to go to Longbourn looking disheveled. Bad enough he could not hide the traces of his long, cold ride. Not that he had any need to impress anyone at Longbourn – far from it. He had no intention of giving anyone any expectations. None at all.
Most likely it was just a flurry and would improve soon.
A gust of wind sent snowflakes driving into his face. Mercury tossed his head and whinnied, most likely unhappy about the snow blowing in his eyes. He had probably never seen snow before. Darcy leaned forward and patted the side of his head, but the horse’s ears remained flattened. Perhaps it had been a mistake to take the young stallion rather than one of his better trained horses.
But now the snow was coming down harder, making it difficult to see any distance down the road. Devil take it, he would have to go back. But when he pulled on Mercury’s reins, instead of turning, the horse reared up wildly. Suddenly there was nothing but air beneath Darcy.

Ya había olvidado a la mayoría de sus conocidos en Meryton. Con dificultad podía recordar sus caras. Ya era bastante malo que no pudiera ocultar las huellas de su largo y helado viaje. No es que tuviera necesidad de impresionar a nadie en Longbourn ni mucho menos.
