I’m a native
Italian speaker with 10 years of experience in Italian localization. I have got
a bachelor’s degree in linguistics at the Foreign Languages School of the
University “A. Moro” of Bari.
In my journey as
professional linguist, I started as EN>IT translator and proofreader for
Alkemist translation agencies franchise and Trusted Translation.
After one hear
handling contents ranging from technical to touristic, I had the opportunity to
work with Plarium, a game developer, as EN>IT/IT>EN translator for live
support chat.
Another relevant
experience in the first part of my working experience was with Verilogue’s
LogueWork, where I mainly reviewed and translated medical reports for surveys
about age-related diseases and rheumatoid arthritis trials.
At the end of my
collaboration with Plarium and LogueWork the path pushed me toward Jonkers
translation agency and, through them, to Amazon: I landed there while they were
about to start a massive project to localize the UK market listings to train
the Amazon machine translation engine. In my memories it’s like a rollercoaster
ride: we coped with an incredible daily workload for almost 2 years.
And this is where
I met ComTranslation (now part of Straker), translating and subtitling: our
collaboration had been very productive with an average of 4 script translation
and 2 script creation every 2 months. Soon after this encounter, I began
working with USSpeaking, a videogame localization leader: thanks to this
steppingstone I entered the gaming localization world and gained some of the
most precious crown jewels of my career such as Mafia Definitive Edition LQA,
Marvel Future Revolution translation, Restless Soul translation and final
testing, NBA 2K22 LQA.
Finally, my last
and most important collaborations are two:
- with Wix: website creation platform provider,
started thanks to Easy Translate. I currently work with them as Italian
translator, final reviewer and LQA specialist: Wix “embedded” me in their
workflow letting me be part of their internal localization team;
- and with Alkemist, already mentioned, where I
edit and review the final contents related to Philips’ smart appliances apps
(from UI to recipes books, including marketing and transcreation), such as
NutriU, Philips Air+, and Philips Coffee+.
