I'm Alessio Armenise, an Italian freelance translator. My native language is Italian, and my language pairs are English to Italian, French to Italian and Spanish to Italian. My areas of expertise are marketing, e-commerce and medical translation.

I believe the three main ingredients for an excellent translation are accuracy, precision and consistency. Meeting deadlines and having good organisational skills is also essential. CAT tools help me optimise my time and resources.

During my studies, I learnt the importance of words and how to use them appropriately. I'm not only a specialised translator but also a cultural mediator. Apart from conveying meaning from one language into another, I also focus on the cultural background of the target audience.

I did a translation traineeship at the Italian Representation of the European Commission in Rome. I translated from English and French into Italian news items published on the Rep's website and newsletter. I could also familiarise myself with DGT working tools and Machine Translation Post-Editing (MTPE).

I usually translate from English, French and Spanish into Italian. However, I also worked with Italian companies that wanted to internationalise their websites. I translated their product listings and web pages into English and French. I also started a long-term collaboration with a Peruvian translation agency and some direct clients.
