I have studied countless aspects of Japanese culture over the past nine years, which led me to achieving an MA in Applied Translation Studies from the globally recognised University of Leeds. Throughout the degree I translated texts of many different kinds to a professional standard in fields including journalism, academia, technical, literature, general science, and beyond, in which I learned how to expertly apply translation theories and strategies to practise. My specializations are all areas that I am personally knowledgeable about, comprised of topics that I have studied and enjoyed as hobbies for most of my life. My undergraduate degree is Education Studies, in which I gained a thorough understanding of a wide range of essential industry topics and beyond. I have always been an avid gamer over the past sixteen years, having played many games in entirety in both
Japanese and English.

I recently joined the translation industry, using both my formally gained knowledge and self-studying passions to ensure I produce brilliant, appropriate, and accurate translations. My first transcription project manager praised me for being adaptable, professional, and a caring yet diligent worker who was never afraid to ensure they properly understood the task at hand, always delivering a high standard of work prior to the deadline.

I have been translating YouTube videos for a wonderful Japanese company that manages idols for several months now. I have been subtitling two videos for them every week and this work is still ongoing, but I have completed 22 videos so far. I really enjoy this work, and I am glad to receive jobs every week without fail since our collaboration started. In total I have subtitled around 5-6 hours of content so far, with no end date for the project in sight as new content is still uploaded weekly.
