page layout
Are there any colleagues familiar with the principles of graphic design who could confirm whether 'cage' in the context of page layout is used in English. I had a peruse of the web but have not come up with any examples in English.
Context: schematic list of elements covered in a beginners' graphic design course.
Thanks in advance.

grid
It appears to refer to "the grid" (as in the original gabbia/griglia).
This is a simple method to organize the layout in the intersections of a 3x3 grid.
