My name is Tina. Foreign languages are a passion of mine. I was always interested in working in a field, where I could use my knowledge of German and English, but didn't want to become a teacher. So the perfect choice for me was, is and will be translating. The first foreign language I learned was German. We already had classes in kindergarten where we learned words like bird, father, ship etc. But 95 % percent of my knowledge comes from watching German TV. I learned a lot from German cartoons and then later from German documentaries, talk shows, news and everything in between. I also learned a lot from reading German books and magazines. The same was with my English. Although I started to learn it a little later, it was not hard to catch up, because it’s such an universal language. Knowing those two languages opened a lot of doors for me. I started to do little translation for my friends and people I know, just to see how it goes. And I loved it. You learn something new with every translation and that’s what really pushes me. My career as a translator started in 2008 in a translation agency where I worked as a student for three years. I now work as a freelance translator and I specialised for the technical field. I have a lot of regular clients, but that doesn't stop me from opportunities to work with someone new.
I’m looking for new experience, challenges and new acquaintances, and I think proz.com is perfect for that.
