Discussion

Mohsin Alabdali Jul 29, 2011:
Yes, I think the Sudanese pronounciation of ق and غ could have contributed to the "typo". When I offered my suggested translation, I read غرة. I guess a note was necessary.
Arabic & More (asker) Jul 28, 2011:
Thank you, Dima. Does anyone think this could be a typo for غرة, which refers to the marking on a horse's forehead?
dimamarcel Jul 28, 2011:
I am not sure but I think this either refers to the mane in general or the specifically to the forelock

Facial markings are usually described by shape and location. There may be more than one distinct facial marking and if so, will be named separately. Occasionally, when a white marking extends over an eye, that eye may be blue instead of brown, though this is not consistently seen in all cases.

Common facial markings are:

* Blaze: a wide white stripe down the middle of the face.

Thank you for your help. I really appreciate the effort. I wanted to award points for both your answer and Mohsin's answer, but the system will not allow me to do so.
