Grosvenor House
Grosvenor House was one of the largest private houses situated on London's exclusive Park Lane in the district of Mayfair. The house was the home of the Grosvenor family - (better known as the Dukes of Westminster) for more than a century. Their original London house was on Millbank, but after the family had developed their Mayfair estates, they move to Park Lane to build a house worthy of their wealth (a vast amount) and of their status and influence in the 19th century.

What it means for a building to be iconic:
An icon is a symbol. In the computer world, it’s a small image that has enough detail to help you remember what program that will be launched when you click on it. In religious terms, it’s an image of a saint to remind the viewer of the saint’s story and deeds. For both meanings of the word, an icon is supposed to bring to mind the thing or person being iconified.
When you see an iconic structure, you immediately know its location. Think of the U. S. Capitol, the domes of the Kremlin, the Statue of Liberty, the Eiffel Tower, and the Pyramids.
