Common Usage
In the course of my conversations with fellow translators and project managers (many of whom I don't hesitate to call "friends") we have talked about some desirable traits and behaviors for translators to have. 数学上有所谓的“渐近线”，如座标轴之于“双曲线”，它们之间的距离会沿着座标的四个方向无限接近于零，但永远也不会是零。心中要达到的目标，可能会越来越近，但即使是能做到“无限接近”，可能也永远不会是百分百达到。

| 开个反向的玩笑，“极力套近乎”应该也是一种approaching asymptotically的表现方式。“渐进地”也对，不过整句话强调的不只是“虽不能至而心向往之”，而是在行动上也“极力”去做。因此，你的建议我完全接受。谢谢！ |
