German term

löffelfertig

German to English Marketing Real Estate UK English
Die Wohnungen werden schlüsselfertig produziert, auf Wunsch auch möbliert "löffelfertig".

Basically fully furnished and equipped, but I was trying to think of something snappier to say. "Ready to move in with only a suitcase" seems a popular translation but too cumbersome - is there something more catchy than that?

Not sure what field to put this request in.....

Thanks
Wendy

furnished right down to the last teaspoon

There's humour in the German, and I think that should be reflected in the English.

neutral writeaway : well, this seems to be what asker is looking for but sleek marketing it ain't /this is just cutesy. and of course exactly what asker wants

If by slick you mean bland and po-faced, then no,it isn't.
agree David Hollywood : I like the "down to" and poached it in my suggestions I confess but there are so many ways to render this and a combination of our suggestions might fo it

agree Thomas Pfann : Also agree with your note about the humour in the German which should be kept.

agree AllegroTrans : This certainly reflects the German if that is what the Asker wants

ready for use // ready for occupancy

I assume you've already googled for 'bezugsfertig'
Note from asker:
That is not enough, it is not just furnished and ready to move in, absolutely everything is provided, including spoons!

for carefree occupancy

I's rewrite this to something more descriptive of the benefits...
Where 'carefree' or even 'immediate' might fit the bill...

One way of expressing it.

fully furnished and move-in ready with everything provided
Note from asker:
thanks, but I don't think that tells me that absolutely everything is provided, right down to the cutlery! Somehow it needs to be one step more
thanks
Peer comment(s):

agree writeaway : This would be my choice as this is a marketing text. Fully furnished says it all. maybe asker could add the word equipped. or fully furnished, including cutlery

thanks - yes, marketing text, no need to be literal

fully furnished and equipped all the way down to the silverware!

I would just add a little something after the normal and usual "fully furnished and quipped."

ready to serve up /down to a tea/

to keep the metaphor .. and maybe even with an un-nicked copy of 'Das Löffelchen' by Albrecht Goes nestling on the coffee table. Some of us may remember from German A-level literature: das Brandopfer being his set-reading novella.
Example sentence:

You can use to a T or to a tee to mean perfectly or exactly right.

thanks

neutral AllegroTrans : "Serve up" to describe a house or flat? I don't think so, maybe OK for a coffee shop though

It's always an idea to 'rustle up' something original when the asker is after a 'non-cumbersome' turn of phrase.

That's how they would sell the apartment here in Canada. :-)
