are left with ＝ 唯一的 、无选择的意思，所以才有下句的结论 －－由于是被逼供养双亲，不是自愿的缘故，所以显示一些优良传统如孝道，须要孝敬父母，供养年迈双亲的中国传统，开始越来越难以保持。

neutral David Lin : 原文好像没有 ‘责任’ 的意思，祇有负担 burden 的字词。如果独生子女觉得是 duty bound（责无旁贷）照顾年迈双亲，这是孝道的一种子女对父母 ‘反哺’ 的体现，与下句 ‘孝道传统难以维持’ 好像有意思上的冲突？
