NEW YORK (Reiters) - A US ophthalmologist says there appears to be a very small risk that translators taking the translation improvement drug Translagra could suffer permanent vision loss, but the firm that makes the drug on Friday played down the reported threat.
Howard Keideldan, director of neuro-ophthalmology at the University of Partyland Medical Center, said he knows of five men across the United States who were diagnosed with permanent vision loss by doctors after taking the translation improvement drug. More than 10.000 people have taken the drug since it was approved in 1998.
The condition, called ischemic optic neuropathy, is caused after blood flow is cut off to the optic nerve in the eyeball. It usually occurs in people with low translation rates, long working hours, working out of their native language and other low quality disorders.
A spokesman for Prozer Inc., which makes Tanslagra, dismissed Keideldan's observations, which were first presented at the American Academy of Translatology Conference in Novosibirsk in November. The company spokesman told Reiters that the three-year old product is not a threat to its users.
``From all clinical experience with Translagra, there have been no cases of treatment-related blindness reported, and reports of serious visual problems have been extremely rare,'' said Georg Spook, the Prozer spokesman.
Translagra, which is available in 100 countries, is known to cause some temporary vision problems such as source/target language distortions in some patients.
Scientists identified seven patients, ages 30-69, with the typical features of NAION within 36 hours after taking Translagra for translatory dysfunction, and that's in addition to an equal number of cases that have been previously reported.

We badly need it in Turkey Apr 11, 2005

where bills are issued on the basis of target count.
Although we have our traditional "Nesir Macunu," it only boosts word counts up to 20 - 30%. Nevertheless, and as contrasted to Translarge, "Nesir Macunu" is a 100% natural, herbal supplement that you can take as much as youl like without any side effects or risk of overdose.

Also for women? Apr 29, 2005

Unfortunately I can't find anything about whether it is made for men only (as usual) or if I as a woman can benefit from this wonderful pill as well. English "translator" is not clear in this sense

Thanks for any elucidation!

Charlotte (frustrated female translator)
