I'm reviewing an memoQ project and I'd like to know if it's possible to hide all segments that do not contain any letters.
I can hide all repetitions, but how about this: When I make a modification to the first (and not hidden) segment of a range of repetitions, will this modification be propagated, even when the reps are hidden?
How can I detach the online TM (I get error messages that it cannot be found, whenever I update a modified segment)?

Hi,
Regarding your first question, you could filter the source or target segments with the regex string ^\P{L}+$ (make sure to check the regex tick box next to the filter funnel icon). Then select (ctrl+shift-A) and lock (ctrl+shift+L) the displayed segments. You could now skip these segments by setting up the Go to next settings properly (ctrl+shift+G, select e.g. Unlocked rows) or create a view with only Not locked segments to hide them.

Regarding your second question I'm not sure what you mean with hide here, but if you refer to a filtered view where these segments are excluded, the change will not be propagated to the hidden segments. Auto-propagation will only apply to segments that are visible, unlocked and unconfirmed (depending on your Auto-propagation settings).

Regarding your last question, you could create a new QA settings rule set where you uncheck all options but “Warn if target segment equals source segment”. Then filter for segments with Unsuppressed warning (Status tab), lock them and create a view with only Not locked segments.

I have, however, problems with the locking part:

Ctrl+Shift+L didn't lock any segment and in the Translation > Segment group of the ribbon, the Lock/Unlock icon is greyed out. How come?
I'm using memoQ 7.8.122
Addition: I just created a new and local project from a DOCX file. Here I can lock segments. So the fact that I cannot lock segments in the online project probably has to do with the fact that it's an online project?

yes, that's most likely the cause. I'm not sure if it's never possible to lock segments in online projects, or if it depends on how the PM has set up the project. In any case you could change the segment status as a work-around. When you have applied the relevant filter(s), select all segments and choose Change Segment Status in the Preparation tab. Select either Edited or Not started under New status. Assuming that all other segments have Confirmed status, you can now cre... See more Hi again,
