Hi,

Does anyone know of a (freeware) tool or macro to merge hundreds of rtf files into one document?

Splitfile Nov 7, 2007

I use Splitfile to split very big files, and then reassemble them into the original source file.
(http://www.jockersoft.com/english/index.php). You could check if it also work for your files.

Maria, as far as I know, Splitfile merges only files splitted by itself.

As this is a request I posted some time ago, I'm very interested if there is any solution (except Transit XV that allows to manage hundred files as a unique file)

As you seem to own Trados, in v7 (2006), there is a tool called Trados Glue (Start>Programs>SDL international > SDL ...>Tools>SDL Trados Glue ("C:\Program Files\SDL International\T2006_FL\TT\SDLTradosGlue.exe").
Maybe you can explore this to see if it suits your needs.

Thanks everybody for your feedback. Eventually I ended up buying MonkeyMerge, the license is very cheap so considering I am probably going to save 5-6 hours of work the investment made sense. There is a macro in +Toyz that creates a materfile of all the files in a folder. And lots of other useful stuff.
