Kevin,
Talking about my teaching years makes me reminiscent of those good old times. I think I want to share with you a few pictures I took in my last year teaching at school. I name this group of pictures "Au revoir, mes étudiantes..."(Goodbye my students...)
Enjoy!
From sun up to sun down,
I was amongst my students at school...
I went to school every day this early...
And I went back home this late...
Watching out of my office window,
I saw students entering the school gate...
I share my office with the other teacher
This is where I used to sit...
Oh my students, my dear.
The class is not over yet!
While you are happily chatting,
Your teacher is slyly shooting,
And he will keep it forever...
Ahha,
Somebody discovered the secret
And the word spread quick.
Everybody behaves her/himself,
As if nothing happened.
Now the class is over,
And it's time for fresh air,
We salute our national flag,
Our national anthem in the background...
Goodbye my students,
Goodbye, Adieu, Maa Salaam...
I cherish the sweet memories
Of the time we were together...
To protect personal identity, I processed these pictures.

看到那台Philips 60W的小录音机，不禁想起俺的短暂教书生涯（虽然不同之处是在大学教）。。看来这基本是中国英语教学的特色标配。 幸亏早早离开，没有再继续误人子弟。

谢谢你的帖子和照片！让我想起我的中学年代。现在的校舍真好，学生白白胖胖的，衣着整洁，新课桌，瓶装水......真幸福！我当年，冬天早上还要去教室生炉子，课桌和椅子常常坏了还对付着用，在学校想喝口水，就从“洋井”里压出来，别看天天吃的是土豆白菜炖粉条豆腐，一个个的小脸儿长得红扑扑的，和农村孩子一样。
读你的介绍，好像你已经不再当老师了，对吗？现在一定是只当全职翻译了。
最近写给我的帖子太多了，让不熟悉我的朋友都要看烦了。我未经你的许可，就把你的标题改动了一下，望见谅。

学生难管，尤其是在青少年时期。你要教，要她学，他偏不学。这个阶段的特点是逆反心理和与老师家长的抵抗心理。加上班级规模大（50 人左右），课程紧，应试教育流弊严重，所以教起书来困难重重。不过也分怎么教。不管他不就行了

看出来了，男生和男生坐，女生和女生坐。
男生比女生略多一些。

男女分坐的目的不言而喻，但毫无效果。尤其是某些班主任把有“特殊关系”的男女生一个放在前排，一个置于后排角落的做法，不但伤人自尊，且二人牛郎织女，惟七夕不得相见，反而会茶饭不思业不想，成绩一落千千丈。
教师的以身作则和正确引导才是解决此类问题的关键。:)

两幅照片中的学生校服有点像公务员。请问陈同学或陈老师也在其中吗？
我倒是很赞同实行学生校服制度。这样可以阻断学生在服装上的攀比。美国公立学校的学生不穿校服，学生对服装品牌和款式的攀比严重，家长对孩子一百多美元的耐克球鞋也只好忍痛支付。

KEVIN大哥﹕第一張，是小弟曾任教的學校，當時是教會考班(中五）英文及歷史。第二張，是英皇書院（KING'S COLLEGE中學）香港官辦第一學府，小弟頑皮，讀書不用功，無緣進名校。香港校服無統一，這是冬天穿的樣子，男的多是藍褸、灰褲、結領帶、黑鞋、白襪、短髮，女的穿裙子。

对崇尚自由，又极富创意的美国人来说，穿校服岂不太禁锢他们的想象力？
