fixed-formation train
Explanation:
Vehicles can be lifted individually or, if a fixed formation is used for normal service, more recent practice has been to lift the whole train set.

As a starting point, MODTRAIN will concentrate on fixed-formation passenger trains and universal locomotives capable of 200 km/h or more.

This train was produced to operate on the Tokyo Subway Line No. 12, a small bore tunnel subway. It has a fixed 8-car 8M formation.

Multiple unit trains, ie those with distributed power, performed marginally better than fixed formation trains with head end power.

agree  Witold Wiechowski: Four basic design rules were set for the (TGV) trains—a maximum 17-ton axle load, fixed formation train sets... http://tinyurl.com/b3p7v Ale nie wszystkie "fixed formation trains" poruszają się z prędkością powyżej 200km/h.
