decorrelate
In some contexts, 'decouple', but here I think it is more a 'decorrelate' case. To break the link between X and Y.

French term (edited):
décorreler
Offline updating process needs to be dissociated from XXX
Hello,
"Décorréler" comes from the verb "corréler", which means "to associate with." "Décorréler" means to "dissociate from" (separate from). The "dé" undoes the "correlation", thus "dissociation" (separation).
Remember that * à * followed by an infinitive such as "décorréler" means that something needs or should be done. Example: la pièce est à repeindre (the room needs to be repainted). Here, the offline updating process needs to be dissociated from XXX.
I hope this helps.
Good luck!
