Russian term

в два раза меньше

Non-PRO Russian to English Bus/Financial General / Conversation / Greetings / Letters
Evening,

I really have a mental block when it comes to working out percentages with 'raz'.

Context - company A uses 'в два раза меньше' materials than company B. What % less do they use?

Thanks!

Konstantin Kisin Jun 4, 2008:
Emily, for future reference, all you have to do is divide the original number by the "разы" (:P). For example, "в два раза меньше" - divide by two. "В два с половиной раза меньше" - divide by 2.5. Etc.
Mikhail Kropotov Jun 4, 2008:
That would be 40%.
Emily Justice (asker) Jun 4, 2008:
75% ???
Jack Doughty Jun 4, 2008:
It gets worse when they use fractions - what's в два с половиной раза меньше?
