thanks - in fact the French term is also used in 2 ways - to describe the location, that is "a band of pain" or to describe the nature of the pain - like a belt being tightened - I think the 1st applies here
agree Angela Dickson (X) : Lionel, please produce some evidence that this is not a 'medical' term, and bear in mind that even in very technical contexts English will use less flowery language than French, in general.
