I am worried about using the word "museographic" in English, which relates to the contents of museums.

Since it might be about interpretation rather than 'setting' as such, ie once placed within a museum context, then certain forms of meaning fall away and others accrue. The original 'siting'/'meaning' is removed and the object gains a status by being in a museum that it may not have had before. Reference to the original 'siting'/'meaning' can then be recreated or reference made to it in various ways for the purposes of the audience, but this can only be artificial.

If it is simply about placing them in a display in a museum, then I accept 'setting' could be appropriate, but it would be fairly naive writing - most curators are very well-versed in the issues I mention above.

: Yes, if the 'placés' means literally, physically... and depending a bit on whther it is a 'real' museum or not (perhaps just a film set, for example?)
