with criminal records that have already been expunged

I did find one link to a Spanish site talking specifically about "canceling" a criminal record:

After looking into it a little further, I would use "cancel" instead of "expunge"--that site talks about the "cancelación de antecedentes penales" and translates it to "cancellation." It is the Ministry of Justice website.

Sorry to drag you further into my thought process ... If you don't choose to talk about the criminal records as having been "cancelled," I might even suggest saying "cleared" (rather than my initial suggestion of "expunged") given that clearing a criminal record is more general than expunging it.

I promise, this is my last note!

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thanks, Rachel. No problem with sharing the thought process. Lydia posted the answer "cleared criminal history" but since you suggested it here before she arrived, I feel you should get the points, I'm changing the answer and entering it in the glossary. Thanks everyone!"
