strategic categories of white goods
I certainly don't disagree with Sandr'as interpretation of blanc = household linen; however, Asker's classification of this as 'furniture / household appliances' just cast a doubt in my mind, and made me wonder if we aren't in fact talking about 'shite goods' here — domestic appliances traditionally housed in 'white' such as fridges, cookers, washing-machines etc. (as distinct from 'brown' goods like TVs etc.)

Oh dear, I do apologize everyone for my dreadful typo above!
Perhaps David is right though — it just might be a Freudian slip...
My excuse is the difficulty of typing with a broken wrist in plaster...

: Gosh, hadn't thought of white goods. Aren't they usually "electroménager"? (having just bought a new fridge!). / Just saw the discussion - white goods it is!

strategic lines in household linen
I'm guessing "Blanc" is the main problem here.
It's the name given to household linen, especially bedding. There are always "soldes du Blanc," just before the main sales, of bed linen and towels.

: Certainly possible; though Asker has classified this as 'furniture / household appliances' — is that a hint as to extra context...?

You're right! I though it was one of those catch-all categories but Susan has confirmed it's household appliances.
