Spanish term

ocupantes, vivientes, invasores y no propietarios

Spanish to English Science Environment & Ecology environmental impact assessments
This comes from an environmental impact assessment update for a dam project. It's written in Colombian Spanish and this section refers to the concerns of local people as to the consequences of the dam. They comment on what might happen to the people below, who I'd understand as being "squatters, landless, etc" but am unsure as to what each term might have as its equivalent. Any help very gratefully received.

También preocupa la situación de los ocupantes, vivientes, invasores y no propietarios que habitan estos predios requeridos por el proyecto.

Timothy, According to the Kudoz rules, you can only ask one term at a time. If you do, the chosen answer to each term can be put into the glossary to help other translators in the future.

squatters, tenants, and other non-landowners

If you look up 'squatters' in the thesaurus, the only other reasonable equivalent is 'homesteader', but that's a very specific case, and presumably you do not have the information to know if they qualify as such - nor does it really matter.

Rather than try to rummage for specific translations, I'd suggest that you go for the general idea.

In my experience, 'proprieters' refers to businesses, and in this case we're talking about landowners.

In Marina Orellana's "Glosario Internacional," 'squatter' is "ocupante."
The difference between your terms is likely to turn around their relationship to the owners of the land. The distinguishing characteristics are the arrangements under which they occupy the land.
