Job Description: All Staff Counsel are under the general direction of an Assistant General Counsel. Incumbents serve as legal counsel to the Department, advising on legal matters affecting correctional issues relating to each Team's specialty. This includes consulting with and advising Department administrators on the interpretation and analysis of law, court decisions, and rules and regulations related to the specific issues associated with each Team, and acting as liaison with the Attorney General's Office in litigation related to various CDCR issues

Staff - jak "na etacie". W niektórych instytucjach oznacza to jednocześnie niski a właściwie najniższy stopień w hierarchii służbowej. "Staff writer", to taki, bardzo szeregowy dziennikarz w redakcji ale oczywiście prawnicy z definicji nigdy nie są szeregowi :-))
