French term

feuille silicone ajouré

French to English Other Cooking / Culinary
I understand this is some kind of silicone sheet but I'm not sure how to translate "ajouré" - I found hem-stitched or openwork in the dictionary, but I'm wary of making something up. Here is the sentence:

Une fois durcis, couper des tranches d’environ 1/2 cm d’épaisseur, puis posez-les sur une plaque recouverte de papier sulfurisé ou d’une **feuille silicone ajouré**.

perforated silicone (baking) sheet

Nothing so fancy as a particular type of stitiching, just peppered with little holes, presumably for even baking and to avoid things getting stuck on by suction.

It has to be said that this is a relatively unusual version, as most of them are usually smooth and continuous; I couldn't help wondering if perhaps they really meant 'alvéolé'? It possibly all depends just what they are cooking on it?

Here's the actual thing, in the 'Silpat' range:

I get the impression this may be referred to as a 'baking mat' in the US, as shown in Rachel's ref., though as a GB native, I can't say I'm personally familiar with that term on this side of the Atlantic.

Thanks, Rachel! Yes, possibly; I suspect that is probably more US (I note the prices are in $).

Thanks, Barbara! Is that in invitation? Seriously though, no I don't think so: one wouldn't usually cut pizza dough like that, would one? Sounds to me more like the sablé biscuits I used to make, for example, where you make a 'sausage' and then cut slices
